Just learned that the locally based Propel Fuels is offering 5 gallons of free biofuel if you sign up at their web site through July 4th; check out the sign up page. Seems like a great deal if you want to try out their product without putting out any money! Propel Fuels moved its headquarters to Sacramento from Seattle last year. They have installed E-85 ethanol and B-5 biodiesel pumps at five locations throughout the Sacramento area and are planning to open another location in Placerville soon. Check out their locations page to see which is closest to you. I'm excited to see someone out here now that provides a consistent supply and good hours. |

Apologies for putting a poll out there that doesn't work... it should be fixed now. If you see other issues, you can always contact the web site administrator.

Thank you all for your patience regarding this site. Originally, this site was intended to be a cooperative effort with the Sacramento Biofuels Network, but that is no longer the case. Therefore I am looking for new partners to keep the Sacramento Valley biofuels community up-to-date with local events and vendors. If you are interested in helping out, please do let me know. If you are looking to get something specific out of this site, please respond to the poll on the right side of the home page so that I can try to provide you with what you are looking for. In the meantime, I will be re-working the structure of this site to make it easier to find information. The Sacramento Biofuels Network blog site can still be found at www.sacbiofuels.org. Send me a note at mike @ sacbiofuels.com if you have any questions, suggestions, or information you'd like to contribute. Thanks! Mike

All right, I know the question you're asking. I know why you are here. I know what it is that you want to know. "Where can I find biofuels / biodiesel / ethanol in the Sacramento area?!?" Believe me, I'm trying to find out that very same thing!!
Here is a challenge for you, dear reader: If you are aware of anyone in the Sacramento area (and this includes both the Highway 50 to the East and Interstate 80 to the Northeast of Sacramento) that is selling a biofuel to the public (wholesale doesn't help individuals like us very much), then please provide me with the contact information via the Volunteers page (you will need to register at this site to see the link to the page). I will then contact the seller to get details and then post the details here so that other registered members can benefit from them. |

There certainly is a great deal going on in the motorsports community with respect to Diesel technology. I find motorsports to be a great venue for proving new technologies, and lately modern Diesel technology has been in racing news more and more often. The combination of the Diesel's durability and relatively low fuel consumption make it particularly ideal for long distance competitions such as round-the-clock racing. I realize this does not entirely have to do with biofuels (nor with Sacramento area activities), but any advances in Diesel technologies will definitely have a positive impact on biodiesel use. |

Very interesting! Google now has 2 pages worth of video clips (from places such as CNN, Fox, C-SPAN) talking about peak oil... Some of the clips are very enlightening... I've added the search link to the SacBioFuels Links page so that you can search any time and watch the list of video clips grow... |
